Reigning champion Sebastien Charpentier was bidding for a third title in a row, but he crashed his Hannspree Ten Kate honda while leading the opening round and handed the victory to teammate Kenan Sofuoglu. That win would set the tone for a truly incredible season for the young Turkish rider.

At Brands Hatch, with three rounds to go and just days before his 23rd birthday, Sofuoglu secured his first World Supersport Championship.
